Millennials- Poised to Lead

$7.98 $3.99

Is it time we
created a world where individuality is at its peak even as communities are at
their empowered best?

·  Is it about
time the world changes its course towards kindness and sustainability?

·  Is it
possible that the digital revolution could ring in better days for humanity?

Possible. The
millennials have arrived!

The book
derives inspiration from my work and times with the world’s most ‘scrutinised’
generation. Alternately labelled by analysts as being digital natives,
altruistic, anxious, stressed, blighted, broke and woke, it nevertheless
remains a highly celebrated generation.

Using
personal cameos and research the book reveals the why, how, what and what ifs,
of all things millennial. It draws from my experience three decades of experience
in raising, researching, leading and mentoring millennials at the
university and in organisations.

While the
interest in millennials ought to be, and is growing, very few works on them and
their dynamics with other generations exist in popular literature. Millennials
– Poised to Lead, offers a syntax for this generation when it eventually dons
the mantle of leadership of our world. This book is a tribute to a generation
which has come into adulthood in singularly difficult times and even so, remains
ever hopeful of a radiant future.

This book
will help

·   Millennials come closer to
understanding their generational traits and prepare strategies for career and
life goals to be fulfilled

·   Interfacing generations like
Gen X/ Baby Boomers can better navigate teams and transitions more effectively
in organisations

·   Workplaces and families will
come closer in understanding each other

The exercises at the back
are value bombs on leadership and intergenerational dynamics that provide the
readers with immersive methods to help steer the transition effectively.

Description

*Nyla faced
a nervous breakdown. Staring at the end of life at the age of 20. Dumped by her
long- time boyfriend over the social media! Piecing her life back to normalcy
was arduous and painful. She eventually triumphed.

*Abin and
Vinnie are high flyers, good careers, globe trotters, comfortable. However, something
was missing. They realized it was their
DINK status. At 35 years they now feel ready to begin a family. Inwardly,
Vinnie cringes when she thinks of the work life disruption this would entail.

*Fernando
moved to London, after a stint in Mexico. His Spanish family had raised him
comfortably, but Fernando was not very keen on seeking higher education. He
found his life partner and got married. Brexit stares at Fernando and his wife.
Uncertainty prevails.

*Katherina
Schulz and Ludwig Hartmann, want to ‘save the world, pragmatically, a step at a
time.’  It’s their life’s mission as a
green politician shaping a new form of politics of the future. She is a ‘Woke’
millennial.

Who are
these people in the stories?

They are
the Millennials or the Gen Y, those born between 1980- 1996 (Pew Research) and
who at the turn of the century, that is the new millennium attained adulthood.

Over the
past 20 years of being in the mainstream, the millennials have faced tumultuous
times, eating away at their vitals. the Great Financial Crisis of 2008 and the
COVID -19 pandemic, are two of the most defining events that have wrought havoc
to their aspirations.

The book
derives inspiration from my work and times with millennials -the world’s most
‘scrutinized’ generation. Who are they and what are they made of? Alternately
labelled as digital natives, anxious, stressed, blighted, broke and woke, millennials
fascinate and mystify all generations.

Using personal
cameos and research the book reveals the why, how, what and what ifs, of all
things millennial. It draws from my three decades of experience in teaching,
researching, leading and mentoring millennials at the university and in
organizations.

While the
interest in millennials ought to be and is growing, and how the millennials
will shape as leaders themselves is not forthcoming. Very few works on them and
their dynamics with other generations exist in popular literature. Millennials
– Poised to Lead, with real life cases, presents a syntax for all generations
to understand the drivers of millennial leadership and world views that shape
their thinking.
